Personal Portfolio Management Journal and General Trading/Investing Concepts
👋 Hey there, Pedma here! Welcome to the 🔒 exclusive subscriber edition 🔒 of Trading Research Hub’s Newsletter. Each week, in this series, I share my personal trading experiences and journey, offering you the behind the scenes into how I manage my own portfolios, my trading performance, new research for trading strategies and general content aimed at helping traders with the experience I’ve accumulated for the past 6 years.
My mission is full transparency by building a public track record of my performance. As I navigate through the markets, I'll be sharing every step of the journey – the ups, the downs, and everything in between. It's not just about trading; it's about growing together as a community.
Thoughts on Recent Market Behavior
I’ve been through many changes in cycles. From extreme bearishness to extreme bullishness. I’ve watched my portfolio grow yearly salaries and decline yearly salaries in the span of a few days. I am used to it. I am a trader after all, and I take risk where I can take it, as long as that risk is calculated. But I do think we as traders lose touch with reality when we see these large numbers up and down on our screens.
I keep track of every cent of my personal bank statements as far back as 2017. Yes I am a nerd. But I can go back and remind myself of where I started, where I am now and where I am headed. This was my first monthly check I’ve gotten for my work. Yes not even 550€ was my paycheck just 6 years ago.
As the altcoin market shifted weaker in the past few weeks, so did my portfolio performance, considering that I am a directional long-only trader. My portfolios are swinging large multiples of my yearly paycheck from that time and it can be tough to see those numbers on a screen. After all, I am still the same kid I was back then, just 6 years older.
