Crypto Twitter Commentary Series #3 - 18/12/2022
In this series my plan is to make a summary of the data and major events happening on crypto twitter. The goal is both for myself to keep a log and to share with all of you.
It is part of my job as a trader to keep track of everything that is happening in the crypto space, and where best to do that? Crypto Twitter!
Let’s look at the top individual content for the day on Crypto Twitter:
Today was the world cup final, so all the major content should be geared towards that as we don’t have much going on on crypto right now. Crypto.com is on a ad on the world cup final which is interesting considering the state of the industry at the moment. They are still a huge company and bringing world wide visibility to the space is never bad.
We’ve all seen the astronomic rise of Andrew Tate on social media for the past few months and today he announced he’d be buying some Bitcoin in response to Michael Saylor’s tweet with a picture of diamond hands holding a Bitcoin.
Speaking of famous people using crypto, Drake used Bitcoin to place a bet on the world cup final.
According to BI, SBF’s parents seem to be under observation. Having a son that misused billions of dollars of customers funds, might not be very good for one’s reputation. I bet that investigations will reach them also to find out if the parents somehow were involved in their son business dealings.
These are the top topics of the day, nothing major happening in the crypto world as prices continue to decline.
Let’s look at the data:
On the picture above you can see the top 10 accounts on twitter by tweet count for today. I am tracking a lot more accounts but this chart is just for us to grasp who is writing more content on the space at the moment
Here we can see that CT mentioned a lot an asset called $MEE. After further investigation on what’s happening around that asset we can see that it is about a new game launch. Our scanners are working good since we’ve been able to pick that people are heavily mentioning that. Not too many mentions about either Bitcoin or Ethereum on the top words for today. You can gauge some sentiment from that data point.
Bitcoin and Ethereum mentions keep declining as prices decline. That is a natural state of sentiment As I track more data this charts will get more and more accurate for the past 30 days.
